Get the most out of your deck prep before staining with Cabot Wood Brightener. Formulated to remove unsightly discoloration of wood from tannin bleed, this brightener also removes nail and metal rust stains. Use on all painted, stained and unfinished wood with great results. Bring back the rich, new-wood look on weathered wood with this brightener. Once diluted with water, the concentrate makes up to 5 gallons of wood brightener.

Application Directions

  • Before You Begin instructions
    • Test on a small, hidden area to determine effectiveness
    • Wet down shrubs and greenery with water and cover with plastic; hose down when done
  • APPLICATION INSTRUCTION
    • Apply liberally to problem surfaces using a brush or pump sprayer
    • Do not apply to hot surfaces
    • To avoid non-uniform appearances on vertical surfaces, start at the bottom, doing a small section at a time and continue to the top, being sure to rinse thoroughly.
    • Let set 15-20 minutes
    • Stubborn areas may require scrubbing with a stuff bristle brush
    • If surface begins to dry quickly, lightly mist with water
    • Rinse off using a garden hose with nozzle at maximum pressure or use a high-pressure power washer
    • Repeat procedure if necessary

    DANGER! Contains Oxalic Acid. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. Harmful if inhaled. Causes eye, skin and respiratory tract burns. Use only with adequate ventilation. Do not breathe spray mist. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wear protective equipment during application, including acid resistant rubber gloves, goggles, boots, dust mask and other appropriate clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY. Do not mix with other products or chemicals such as peroxides or alkalines, as this will release hazardous gases. First Aid: Eye Contact: Flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, get medical attention. * Skin Contact: Flush skin thoroughly with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, get medical attention. * Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Thoroughly clean contaminated shoes. If Inhaled: If affected by spray mist, move to fresh air. If breathing difficulty continues, get medical attention. * If Swallowed: Give large amounts of water immediately. Do not induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately. * *Call poison control center, hospital emergency room or physician immediately.
