Features

Cabot Solid Color Composite Decking Stain combines maximum color and U.V. protection with a tough, urethane-fortified resin system. The results are a completely opaque finish that is formulated to withstand foot traffic while it imparts lasting beauty. For use on synthetic decks, railings and stairs. Cabot Solid Color Composite Decking Stain is extremely durable and U.V. resistant.

Coverage

On smooth surfaces, approximately 300-500 square feet per gallon; on rougher surfaces, 200-350 square feet per gallon.

Where to Use

Use on synthetic decks, stairs, and railings.

Preparing Your Surfaces

Be sure surface is free of all dirt, mildew stains, loose fibers and other foreign matter. Surfaces must be sound and absolutely dry. Weathered surfaces must be either power washed or scrubbed with a stiff, bristle brush using Cabot's Composite Cleaner. New composite surfaces that are unseasoned should be allowed to weather sufficiently generally no longer than three to six months before staining. Do not apply to PVC or other plastic decking substrates.

Finishing

Stir thoroughly before and occasionally during use. Intermix all containers of the same color. Apply with a natural bristle brush, professional spray equipment or roller. When spraying or rolling, always backbrush immediately to ensure uniformity. A one-coat application is generally sufficient to provide protection and longevity. The application of a second coat will yield maximum coverage and performance, particularly when using dark colors. (The application of a second coat will also result in a higher sheen level). Apply second coat within 48 hours of first coat. Restain depending on exposure or wear every 2-4 years.

Cleanup and Disposal

Clean brushes and equipment with mineral spirits. Dispose of empty cans or unused portion in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Close container when not in use. Soak oily rags, lambswool, steel wool, cloths or any other material in water after use to avoid spontaneous combustion. Danger: Rags, steel wood or waste soaked with this product may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after each use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed, water-filled metal container.
